British Values and SMSC at Swan Lane
The DfE have stated the need ‘to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with differing faiths and beliefs’.
At Swan Lane First School these values are integrated across the school, in a range of teaching and learning contexts.
SMSC stands for spiritual, moral, spiritual and cultural development and these four aspects run through our curriculum and indeed everything that we do here at Swan Lane First School.
